In 2014, Tiffany Gibson, a happy and healthy mom of two, was 45 years old.She always maintained a healthy lifestyle, eating right and exercising. However, she was carefully monitored because of her faulty aortic valve.
After doctors noticed a heart murmur, they told her that because of her healthy body and lifestyle, she could wait for a surgery. They found out the hard way that they were wrong.
With no symptoms, Tiffany was at a workout class when her heart suddenly stopped.
On December 26, 2014, she was doing sit-ups when she laid back down and couldn’tget back up. Her instructor performed CPR and someone called 911. As soon as she was taken to the hospital, she was rushed into the operating room.
She had open heart surgery, which was successful.
This woman is a prime example as to why everyone should always be on top of health concerns and get checked, because even while in tip-top shape, Tiffany had serious problems going on in her body.
Sometimes doctors make mistakes, but thankfully they were able to save Tiffany.
Just five weeks after her open heart surgery, she ran a 5K. Talk about a strong woman!
