3 Years Ago, She Was Burned In A Boat Explosion. Now Shes Beautiful And More Confident Than Ever

On December 26, 2013, Taylah Hemming went boating with her family in Forbes, Australia. The family planned to celebrate Boxing Day (a post-Christmas holiday in countries such as the U.K. and Australia), but their good spirits quickly disappeared as tragedy struck.

Within seconds of the boat engine being turned on, the entire boat caught on fire, engulfing Hemmingin flames. The now 21-year-old physiotherapy student was severely burned. Following the explosion, she jumped into the knee-deep water, ducking down to cover her entire body. She and her uncle were airlifted to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for burns.

Luckily, Hemming survived the fire, but she suffered severe burns all over her body.Daily Mail reported that when Hemming saw herself for the first time in a mirror, she couldn’t recognize her reflection.

After the accident, Taylah suffered from severe psychological trauma. She had anxiety and flashbacks, and was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder.

Once she was physically healthy, Hemming knew she needed to find a way to cope with her emotional health.

In February 2014, she was feeling well enough to start becoming active again.

As soon as she started exercising, she knew that’s what would help her mental health. She began to feel better about her appearance and became determined to get into shape and develop a six pack.

Now, almost three years after the incident, Hemming is extremely fit.

She’s more confident than ever, and her transformation is truly astounding.

Looking at her now, you’d never know the horror she suffered almost three years ago.

Taylah has also become a strong advocate for burn survivors, encouraging people to learn burn prevention and after-care methods.
